Meet our team!

Lindsey Derby

Lindsey started CrossFit in 2017 as a way to make friends in a new city. With her gymnastics background and overall love of fitness though, CrossFit quickly became more than a place for finding friends, it became an avenue for her to improve and test her strength and skills on the competition floor.

Lindsey loved health and fitness long before 2017 though, earning her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. She utilizes the knowledge gained through her degree as she leads the Mad Apple Community as the Director of Fitness/Head Coach.

While Lindsey’s personal goals are on the bigger competition floors, her passion for coaching and helping others improve on a daily basis are the things that make her a great leader in this community.

Kaleb Hetrick

Kaleb grew up in Fort Wayne playing most sports but favoring baseball. He grew up in a family that always pushed him to do his best and encouraged him to be involved in several different sports and activities.

Having an older brother who was also involved in sports, he always had a competitive drive. Although Kaleb enjoys competition, his passion and strength comes through him being a man of God.

Nothing Kaleb has accomplished this far goes without giving the glory back to God. Kaleb has been a gym rat for years but has had the joy of falling in love with CrossFit over the past 11 years.

Kaleb always asked himself what his purpose for training at the gym was and when he discovered CrossFit, he found the answer: helping people succeed in their dreams and goals, thus making a difference in the world.

    Matt Malless

Matt has always been a sports fan, participating in high school and collegiate athletics, followed by several marathons and ultramarathons before starting CrossFit in 2017. CrossFit has clearly surpassed all other fitness options concerning value of time and mental and physical well-being.

      Annie Giddens

Annie found CrossFit about 10 years ago while on a weight loss journey. It changed her life and outlook on health and fitness.

Annie began to love her body for what it could do rather than what it looked like. Wanting to help others realize and help reach their own potential led her to coaching.

In an effort to continue to give back to the CrossFit community Annie travels to CrossFit events all over the world and volunteers as a judge.
