Meet Our Team

Lindsey Derby
Lindsey started CrossFit in 2017 as a way to make friends in a new city. With her gymnastics background and overall love of fitness though, CrossFit quickly became more than a place for finding friends, it became an avenue for her to improve and test her strength and skills on the competition floor.
Lindsey loved health and fitness long before 2017 though, earning her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. She utilizes the knowledge gained through her degree as she leads the Mad Apple Community as the Director of Fitness/Head Coach.
While Lindsey’s personal goals are on the bigger competition floors, her passion for coaching and helping others improve on a daily basis are the things that make her a great leader in this community.

Melissa Gratz
Melissa found CrossFit in 2019 after years in endurance sports—she swam in college, ran half marathons, and tackled triathlons. She loved that CrossFit mixed strength, cardio, and gymnastics into one challenging workout.
Her coaching journey started long before CrossFit—first as a swim coach in high school and later as a group fitness instructor. Coaching CrossFit felt like a natural next step. Melissa loves helping athletes of all levels move well, build strength, and stay healthy for the long haul.
Outside the gym, Melissa is a pharmacist and the founder of PharmDNoDrugs, where she helps people improve their health through lifestyle changes instead of relying on medication. She’s worked with endurance athletes, women in menopause, and clients managing diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Her mission is simple: to help people live healthier, happier, medication-free lives.
When she’s not coaching or working with clients, she’s usually training, exploring outdoors, or spending time with her husband and two boys.
